The 2022 assignment - It’s a wild life

This years assignment challenges participants to create a sustainable and innovative packaging solution inspired by nature's smart features. The focus is on attracting Generation Z, the largest consumer group, with high demands for lifestyle and sustainability. The goal is to design a package that reflects a fictive brand's values in sustainability and quality, providing a unique and playful experience that quickly attracts consumers within 10 seconds.

Result:

The packaging is inspired by the chameleon's ability to change colors which can reflect Generation Z's desire for personal and societal change. It changes color from different angles and contains a cosmetics kit with products that adapt to the skins pH-value and warmth. Sustainability is emphasized through a unique, functional design that minimizes air space, protects products during transport, and promotes reusability. The outer packaging features a zig-zag pattern, a sealing bottom, and a bow for opening and closing.

It can be hung in stores to naturally swirl in the air and show off its color changing features. It’s sewn for durability using environmentally friendly materials. The graphical design, based on chameleon color scales, uses pastels to attract the target group, with a logo inspired by minimalist makeup brands. The products are vegan, cruelty-free, and made from natural ingredients.
