Lack of knowledge about accessibility among graphic designers is a problem that affects society at large. Despite legal requirements and guidelines being followed, many choose to only apply the minimum possible level to avoid consequences. The guidelines are perceived as complex and difficult to understand, while accessible design is considered boring, impersonal and creatively stifling. To reverse this view of accessible design, a fictional design agency is created that encourages and inspires other graphic designers to explore accessible design themselves and take a step in the right direction, without demanding too much.

Result:

Frank Design Studio was created based on traditional design practices and proven design principles to connect with the target audience, graphic designers, and the professionals who primarily hold a negative view of accessible design. The aim was to create a relatable platform that leads by example.

By documenting their first steps in exploring accessible design in a book, they want to encourage and inspire other designers to do the same. The book highlights the importance of accessibility and the problems that exist around it, without taking a position on the issue. By understanding both traditional and modern design practices, designers can together take a step in the right direction towards shaping the future of accessible design and thus contribute to a more equal society.

The book is bound entirely by hand with various materials to complement the book's content.
